+**Alerts** let you know when there is a new message posted to you, in the following situations:
+  * Someone quotes you in a message.
+  * Someone [[tagging_another_member|tags]] you in a message.
+  * You receive a new private message.

+When you click on the Alerts (#) link, a pop up window will open, listing the messages you have received.

+  -__Thread Replies__  Clicking on the link for a thread reply will take you directly to that message.
